During the board exams, the students of 10th and 12th are much more afraid of their results than the exam results of their previous classes, but why is this so?
Here comes the truth, during the results of 10th and 12th the students are afraid of their results, but this fear is because they feel that if they will not score good marks, then what society will say about them, what their relatives will say about them. Because of this, the pressure of students turns into depression. This pressure created by our society can be brutal and pointed when people starts doing comparison.
The students are very unlucky who have their any relative's child or any cousin brother or sister in the same class during boards. During the results of boards if any student does not get good marks then he/she is compared with their cousins or relative's child who have scored better than them. This leads to the discouragement in students and further leads to depression in students.
And with deep sorrow I have to say that due to this shameful behaviour of our society many students commit suicide in our country.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), In 2019, at least one student died by suicide every hour. The year recorded the highest number of student suicides, 10,335, in the last 25 years in India.
This data tells everything.
Case Story -
There was a student named Rahul Desai, he belonged to a middle class family. His father was a businessman and owned a shoe shop and his mother was a housewife.
From his early age, Rahul was never interested in studies, but apart from this he was interested in cricket and loved playing it. But this was not liked by his family. They always told him to study and not to engage in these useless things such as cricket and always gave an example of his cousin Sameer who was very good at studies. They always forced Rahul to study hard because his cousin was very good at studies and so according to them he has to compete with him.

During the boards of 10th Rahul got 78% whereas Sameer got 92%. Rahul's family and his relatives criticized his result by comparing it with Sameer and others who got more than him. This demotivated Rahul. He tried to study harder but still he couldn't stand on the expectations of his family and so he again got less percentage as compared to his relatives and others during 12th Boards.
During that time the words of the society were very harsh to him, it seems to him that someone is again and again stabbing in him and the same pain he was feeling again and again. In addition to it he was very much demotivated.
Then he opted engineering and went to Kota for studying but again he could not make it and was not qualified for IIT JEE but on the other hand Sameer and others qualified.
When Rahul came back, his family as well as his relatives again started comparing him with Sameer and others. The other people in the society even said that their money got wasted up on Rahul's education and this changed Rahul's demotivation into depression and when he again gone to Kota for studying he was not able to deal with the thoughts of the people about him in the society and the comparison which was done between him and others. So after few months he committed suicide due to his depression.
#Voiceofmyopinion -
Every suicide of these students are not really a suicide, this is a murder done by the people's behaviour of our society which lead these students to take such a huge step. This mentality of our society needs to be changed because it can ruin many more lives of students.
Like Rahul there are many more students who commit suicide everyday due to the comparison done by our society, so instead of criticizing others like Rahul we should encourage them. This will motivate them as well as it will spread positivity in society.
